   Dr. Jamie Pleasant is a graduate of the MBA class of ’91.  Dr. Pleasant is quoted as saying, “I consider having the opportunity to have been a student and now teaching at this institution a blessing of a lifetime.”  “I give, and will continue to give 110% of everything I have to this university.”

He currently serves on Forbes Magazine’s Executive Advisory Panel and Business Week’s Executive Board of Marketing Advisors.  Jamie is advisor of the North-South Carolina Club for undergraduate students here at CAU and co-advisor for the marketing club.  Dr. Pleasant holds the distinction of being the first African American to graduate with a Ph. D. degree in marketing from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Dr. Pleasant has worked several years in corporate America on distinguished brands including Tylenol Allergy Sinus as well as Dow Chemical's epoxy resin brands. Dr. Pleasant holds the MBA degree from Clark Atlanta University and the B.S. degree in Physics from Benedict college. He walked on Clemson University 's football team and earned a full scholarship.  

Dr. Pleasant’s research interests include ethnic marketing.  He teaches marketing research specializing in Predictive Analytics (PA) emphasizing PASW Modeler 13 (formally Clementine) and PASW 17(formally SPSS), sales, IMC, brand management, marketing strategies and consumer behavior.  Dr. pleasant has completed several developmental certifications form Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.  He is the founder and senior editor of the Journal of Ethnic Marketing. 

He is married to Kimberly Pleasant and has two sons Christian and Zion and a daughter Nicara.
