This
program leads to the award of the Master of Arts in Accounting degree.
The Master of Arts in Accounting degree requires 30 semester hours.
Successfully completing the Master of Arts in Accounting degree will
allow students with an undergraduate degree in Accounting or the
equivalent to satisfy the 150 semester hour requirement in most states
and territories in order to apply for Admissions to the unified
Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examination.
As soon as
possible, candidates for Admissions to the CPA examination are strongly
advised to verify any additional courses required by their desired state
or territory of certification.
Admissions
•
Complete the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).
• An
undergraduate degree in business from an accredited college or
university which includes or has
been supplemented
bythe following Clark Atlanta
University courses or their equivalent listed below:

Accounting I
▪
Intermediate Accounting II
▪ Cost Accounting
▪
Accounting Information Systems
▪ Auditing
▪ Individual Income
Tax
▪
Business income Tax
▪ Advanced
Accounting
Deficiencies in meeting these course requirements must be made up
without credit in the graduate program. Any undergraduate courses that
are prerequisites for graduate courses must be completed without
graduate credit for Admissions to the course in question.
